Quit Sugar Coating It...Life sucks, Learn to Deal!

My photo
Currently, Wyoming, United States
I am 38 years old, and quite frankly sick and tired of all the stupidity I have had to deal with in my life. So I created this blog to essentially vent and point out the struggles we experience in the US as a society and individuals.... All comments welcome!!

Nazi's compared to abortions....really?

I participate in alot of facebook and myspace discussions and frankly some people disgust me....
Here is a recap of a recent conversation, the names have been changed to protect the STUPID.

GI GUY: Major Hasan killed 13.... The unborn baby (casualty #14) doesn't count since the liberals are pro abortion. Idiots.

Emily Loose: Pro abortion isn't the case for some people. I am anti abortion and pro choice. I would NEVER have an abortion but can understand the feelings of someone who has been raped being forced to have a child. There are so MANY children that spend their lives in horrible abuse at the hands of the foster care system because they are simply unwanted. Is it so hard to imagine that maybe abortion would have been more humane? I also believe if your pregnancy is terminated against your will (ie the mother is killed and the child dies) at any point in the term, there should be laws to account for that loss of life.

Religious NUT: Actually there is one correct answer for all of us. Just as 2+2=4 for everyone, just as the law of gravity is the same for everyone, so too, the universal moral law is the same for everyone. Why? Because there is a God who has written His Law upon our hearts.(editor note; redacted to save space, look it up)
Because abortion involves the intentional killing of another human being, it is an intrinsic evil. The rationalization that unwanted children will end up abused and so maybe they would have been better off aborted is precisely that, a rationalization. By the same twisted logic, the Nazis were the greatest humanitarians because they eliminated a lot of suffering by liquidating entire classes of people. Of course the Nazis caused most of the suffering they were "sparing" their victims from via their grisly gas chambers. So too, some people try to justify abortion as relatively humane because the innocent unborn child is being "spared" from suffering that might be inflicted by the person making the "humane" decision to abort. Apparently some folks have never heard about the other a-word: Adoption.

Emily Loose
JaBreezy.... who the heck are you to force your beliefs upon anyone. There are people who do not believe in the same god you do or any god at all for that matter. If I place 2 apples in front of you and then place two more apples with them that equals 4 apples, no matter what language we speak or god we do or do not believe in. Morality is not a black and white law of the universe that applies to everyone in every circumstance no matter what. Math is a universal law that cannot be disputed through opion or belief. If you think there are six apples, you are wrong, simply mathematical calculations are not the same universal laws as belief that an unborn child has a soul and is a human being, with rights to life as such. As I stated, I could NEVER have an abortion because of my personal Beliefs, not because any universally applied law of the cosmos disproves its validity. How can you say to an 11 year old girl who has been raped by her father that having an abortion will send her to hell? You also need to check into the facts concerning the other A word... Adoption.

Thousands of babies each year are not adopted in the united states each year due to being what many adoptive parents consider "undesireable". They are products of incest with genetic abnormalities, they are crack babies born of mothers with horrible drug problems who require exceptional amounts of care, they are downs syndrome babies, and babies taken from abusive homes where they may have been abused themselves. If unadopted because of these "undesirable" traits, these babies become children who are even less desirable because of their age. These children go into the foster care system where they are statistically 45% more likely to be abused than a child NOT in the system.

YES, i believe these babies may have been better off going straight to heaven and the GOD you apparently believe in than sentenced to a life of horrors, abuse, rejection and 85% greater chance of being drug addicted, prostituted or sexually abused, giving birth, thanks to your "absolute laws" to birthing a child they don't want at the age of 11 because foster daddy was a cruel, sick, twisted fuck who raped her. Maybe you need to rethink your views of heaven and god. Any aborted child, in the christian belief, would go straight to gods side, having never committed a sin. I would think the "loving" god that my local christian community keeps using to try and suck me into the fold would welcome that babe with loving arms into an eternity of joy and peace. I can't imagine imagine you could truly believe that life in hell on earth would be a better choice. I am NOT pro abortion, but I am anti pain and suffering for no apparent reason other than YOU think it's right and will sleep better at night ignoring the true pain and suffering of those less fortunates around you instead of condemning them from preventing anyone from being born into the hell they live in.
And just to address you "view" of the Holocaust. The Nazi's killed the Jews, Catholics and Gypsies not in an attempt to spare them from themselves but because they BLAMED them for everything wrong in the society instead of looking at themselves before pointing the finger!

Comment please and I hope you have something better then "cause GOD said so" to back up your views, otherwise they are just opinions and as such do not constitute universal thinking across cultural gaps. God doesn't belong in our schools or government because not EVERYONE believes in the same one or one at all and thats what the country was founded upon, religious freedom. If all you have is god blah god blah blah, then you can't seperate church and state and should move to a country that doesn't as well before trying to dictate your legal thoughts.

Gun Control is NOT taking away your right to bear arms...

"The US Department of Justice noted Law enforcement reported 617 justifiable homicides in 2006. Of those, law enforcement officers justifiably killed 376 individuals, and private citizens justifiably killed 241 individuals. The discrepancies in the reports are remarkable; however it’s even more baffling that an estimated 17,034 persons were murdered nationwide in 2006." - http://socialconsumer.wordpress.com/2009/05/28/memorializing-war/

Am I the only person I know who likes target practice and the skill involved in gun and bow activities and still thinks there should be stricter gun control? Read the statistics above once again just to let it sink in, I'll wait.

Yes that's right.... in comparison to the number of people killed in violence to the number of people actually PROTECTED by owning a gun, how can anyone with common sense reason that gun control is bad? Gun control is not a politically correct way of saying you lose your right to bear arms. It is exactly that, control. Controlling to the letter of a stricter law, who can own a weapon, and how long it takes to get it. Is there any real reason that someone needs a hand gun right this minute? Other then to commit a crime. Or just cause they are really impatient.

Most people who are eager to get a gun are doing it for emotional reasons. They are scared, angry, or just plain frustrated. Great time to get a gun. If stricter laws are in place, then the process will be more thorough, weeding out criminals and giving law abiding citizens a time to cool off. I you want a gun to target practice or just because you think they are artistic pieces of machinery and you collect them, you can wait while they do all the checks necessary to obtain it. Is that a bad thing? I don't think so. the article I got this information from is very well written and addresses other aspects of violent crime and even race as it relates to violent crime. No I am not saying that minorities commit MORE crimes, just that people tend to commit crimes WITHIN their own ethnic and economic communities. Whites who fear minorities with guns should really be fearing whites with guns, and the same for any race, both here in the US and other countries as well.

Gun control will not CEASE crimes commited with a gun, but it WILL reduce gun use in crimes, most likely reducing the number of fatalities in these crimes.
